Itinerary

Day 1 - Cusco - Valle De Lares - Wacawasi

Transfer from the hotel at 5 am approx. and then we will go to the town of Lares on the way we will be able to appreciate the majestic sacred valley with its fertile lands, highly appreciated by the Incas for its climate and the richness of its lands.  Day 2 - Wacawasi - Ipsay Cocha - Patacancha - Willoq

Early breakfast. Today is the longest and most strenuous day of the trek since we will walk between 7 or 8 hours. You reach the Ipsay pass (4480m), the climb can be strenuous but it offers us an indescribable panoramic view of the snow-capped Pitusiray, Sawasiray and Chicón surrounded by a beautiful landscape. We will make a short stop for lunch next to the Ipsay lagoon. During the trek we will pass through peasant communities which have ancient techniques in agriculture and textile work. We will continue our hike downhill to establish our camp near the town of Patacancha (3720m). Free time to explore the surroundings.

Day 3 - Patacancha - Pumamarca - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

This day the descent walk will be 5 hours passing through the communities of Willoq (3,400 meters), Pumamarca (3,200 meters) and many others. Then we continue walking until we reach Ollantaytambo (2,850 meters) whose archaeological site represents an unbeatable sample of the richness of the Andean culture. Ollantaytambo, which was built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions from the jungle peoples. They will take a walk through the streets of this town, which have still preserved the traces of the old military center, religious since the time of the Inca empire. This day in the afternoon we leave for the train station, to leave for Aguas Calientes, where we will be waiting for you to welcome you and transfer to your hotel.

Day 4 - Aguas Calientes (2,040m) – Machu Picchu (2,400m). Cusco

This day after coordination, we leave at the indicated time for the bus station and leave for the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu, considered a jewel of Inca architecture: with neighborhoods, squares, houses, agricultural areas, roads, observatories, etc. .
