Our Humantay: Ancestral Connection between Mountains and Sky tour invites you to discover one of the most sacred and magical places in the Andes. We'll ascend high mountain trails, surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks and landscapes that seem to touch the sky. Upon reaching the Humantay Lagoon, its turquoise waters and ancestral energy will envelop you in a moment of peace and deep connection with nature. More than just an excursion, it's a spiritual experience that will remain etched in your heart.
Day 1: Tour to Humantay Lagoon
Early in the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to begin a unique day of spiritual connection and nature. We will travel through soul-stirring Andean landscapes, passing through traditional villages until we reach Mollepata (2,803 m above sea level), where we will enjoy a traditional breakfast that will energize us for the adventure.
We will continue by transport to Soraypampa (3,900 m above sea level), the starting point of our hike. From here, we will begin the ascent to Humantay Lagoon, a route of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes between imposing mountains and pure air that will take us to 4,200 m above sea level.
Upon arrival, we will be greeted by the turquoise mirror of the lagoon and the majestic presence of the Humantay mountain peak. Here, we will perform a Pago a la Tierra (Payment to the Earth) and the Quintu (coca leaf) ceremony, honoring our apus and receiving their protective energy.
You'll have time to admire the landscape, take photographs, and experience the profound connection between the mountains and the sky. Afterward, we'll descend to Soraypampa to enjoy a hearty lunch overlooking the snow-capped mountains.
Finally, we'll begin the return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m., with a renewed spirit and the lasting memory of this sacred encounter in the Andes.
